The Guardian team is distributed across the UK, with hubs in Glasgow, Leicester, and Hemel. We currently have around 150 employees within the Guardian Suite team. Job Description This role is remote with occasional travel The role of the Software Engineer is to work as part of an agile software delivery team, working closely with other developers, the Product Manager and the Software Test Engineers.You'll be developing mission critical or supporting software to a high standard, including design, development, technical documentation, and testing. Basic RequirementsYou're not expected to have all of the following skills, but they will be useful in performing your job.Our typical tech stack is C#.NET backend and ReactJS / TypeScript frontend.We are open to receiving experienced or Graduate engineer applications. We are looking for someone who Has experience building frontend systems in JavaScript. Has a sound understanding of HTML and CSS. Is passionate about writing high-quality code. Understands modern software development practices and principles, such as SOLID. Has exposure to modern development workflows, including agile process, Git repositories, pull requests. IMPORTANT Ability to attain NPPV3 and SC clearance. Must be a resident of the UK for a minimum of 5 years to obtain. Core Competencies: Good level of communication skills and technical understanding. Ability to communicate with stakeholders to help diagnose and resolve issues. Eagerness to learn new technologies. Academic and Technical Qualifications: A formal qualification (Degree) in Computing Science or equivalent experience. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
