Understand and reflect basic user needs in the publishing process, even when full user research or iteration is not feasible. Skills and experience Proven experience preparing and publishing web content in alignment with GDS standards and style guides. Strong attention to detail and a solid grasp of plain English and content clarity. Practical knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility guidelines and experience applying them to web content. Ability to write, edit, and format content in HTML and work directly with developers on hand-coded websites. Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, including SMEs, developers, and policy/legal stakeholders. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure. Previous experience publishing content in a UK Government or regulated environment.
