Job Description

Role: Control System Engineer

Location: Luton

Salary: Up to 50,000 depending on experience

My client is looking for a Control Systems Engineer will play a key role in delivering bespoke automation solutions for customer projects. The position covers the full lifecycle of a project, from early concept and system design through to software development, and on site commissioning support. The engineer will take responsibility for developing reliable, high performance control solutions across a range of industrial automation platforms.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage automation projects from initial technical concept through to final handover
  • Produce electrical and control system designs for automated machinery and equipment
  • Develop and implement PLC, motion control, and HMI software to meet project specifications
  • Support system integration, factory acceptance testing and on site commissioning.
  • Work closely with commissioning and service teams to resolve any technical issues during installation
  • Prepare clear technical documentation, including functional descriptions, test reports, and customer deliverables
  • Ensure solutions comply with relevant standards, safety requirements, and customer expectations

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in industrial automation or control systems engineering
  • Working knowledge of PLC platforms such as Allen-Bradley and Siemens systems
  • Experience with industrial robotics would be advantageous
  • Solid understanding of electrical control system principles and modern manufacturing environments
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD & and Eplan design packages
