The role requires a broad understanding of engineering disciplines-including software, mechanical, and electrical-combined with the ability to apply knowledge across multiple projects. You will be responsible for supporting product lifecycles from concept through to delivery, mentoring junior engineers, and contributing to high-profile, technically complex projects.Key Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver systems design, integration, and test activities across multiple projects.
• Provide mentoring and guidance to junior engineers.
• Develop and present technical proposals, specifications, and reports to a high standard.
• Apply engineering knowledge flexibly across software, mechanical, and electrical domains.
• Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including customers.
• Travel as required to support project delivery.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in systems design, integration, and test.
• Strong understanding of product lifecycles from concept to delivery.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
• Mentoring experience and ability to lead small engineering teams.
• Strong written English and computer literacy.
• Eligible for UK Security Clearance.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable Skills

• Understanding of Radar, Radio, or Navigation systems.
• Experience with communications protocols (RS485, RS232, TCP/IP, CANBus).
• Product development experience for Naval or Defence platforms.
• Exposure to EMC, electronics, ESD, or circuit-level fault finding.
• Familiarity with common test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analysers).
• Member of a professional engineering institution (IMechE, IET, INCOSE).
