Radar R&D - Foundation Scientific Software Engineer

Radar R&D Foundation Scientific Software Engineer - lead the development of next generation radar data services to support the UK Met Office and national emergency services.

• Develop operational data services exploiting on prem and cloud computing technologies to efficiently produce radar products.
• Support Met Office scientists and engineers to develop high quality code and implementations of their research.
• Collaborate with a motivated team to deliver projects that solve real world challenges.

• Graduate level experience in a mathematical, physical or computational science or related discipline.
• Experience writing and understanding Python code in a Linux environment.
• Use of good quality assurance processes in your work.
• Communicate scientific and/or technical knowledge accurately, concisely in different situations.

Up to £42,724 annually, including an outstanding Civil Service pension, a Recruitment Retention Allowance (RRA) of £2,200 per annum, 27.5 days annual leave rising to 32.5 days after five years, and other benefits.
