You will develop and implement bioinformatics analysis pipelines for personalised medicine based on the Snakemake workflow management system to support the analysis of large volumes of deep sequencing and protein mass spectrometry data. Pipelines will run on a 2,000 core HPC Linux cluster that resides in a dedicated data centre. The Scientific Computing Team provides a stimulating and motivating work environment, you will be encouraged and supported to keep track in this field.
You will have excellent programming skills, a familiarity with workflow development and data management and strong communication skills. Experience with working in HPC environments and batch systems in particular is an advantage. This role is an exciting opportunity to join a highly interdisciplinary team that combines biology with computer science, mathematics and software engineering, whose goal is to help understanding the cancer genome.
Although an understanding of cancer genomics and cell biology would be advantageous, it is not a prerequisite.
