Principal Web Engineer (Angular)

We're partnered with a well-established UK SaaS company that builds large-scale enterprise software used by thousands of organisations. They're looking for a Principal Web Engineer (Angular) to lead technical direction across their web platform.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll shape architecture, raise engineering standards, and support the growth of the wider web engineering team.

You'll work within a product-focused engineering team, helping to govern and evolve a modern Angular codebase. You'll collaborate closely with delivery, platform, and architecture teams to ensure high-quality, sustainable web delivery.

• Lead and contribute hands-on to the Angular web codebase

• Set technical standards and best practices across web engineering

• Work with cross-functional teams to align roadmap and quality

• Build proof of concepts to reduce delivery risk

• Improve test coverage, automation, and code quality

• Support design reviews, planning, and incident management

• Mentor engineers and support career development

• Play a key role in hiring and technical interviews

• Strong experience building modern enterprise Angular applications

• Solid knowledge of TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS/SASS

• Understanding of accessibility, responsive design, and UX collaboration

• Experience with RESTful APIs and web security principles

• Strong software engineering fundamentals (clean code, SOLID, design patterns)

• Experience with modern testing practices

• Familiarity with Azure and design systems (eg Storybook)
