As the Mobile Applications Developer, you will be working for a world-leading provider of highly innovative psychometrics, who has been providing cutting-edge personality, emotional intelligence, and competency tools and qualification programmes for over 15 years.

Role purpose for the Mobile App Developer - React/iOS/Android position:

• The Mobile Developer is responsible for the development, maintenance, and evolution of the companies mobile applications, supporting the delivery of engaging, high-quality digital products to a global audience of practitioners, partners, and clients.
• The role will initially focus on the redevelopment of an existing native iOS and Android application into a single React Native codebase, followed by the ongoing development of new mobile applications and features aligned to product strategy.
• As the first dedicated Mobile Developer within the team, this role offers a significant opportunity to act as a subject matter expert and influence technical direction.

Key Responsibilities for the Mobile App Developer - React/iOS/Android position:

Mobile Application Development:

• Develop and maintain the existing mobile application into React Native, Expo & node.js for both iOS and Android platforms.
• Own the ongoing development, enhancement, and maintenance of their mobile applications.
• Design, build, and implement new features and additional mobile applications in line with product requirements.
• Ensure mobile applications are robust, scalable, and production-ready.

Technical Ownership & Quality for the Mobile App Developer - React/iOS/Android position:

• Act as the subject matter expert for mobile development, providing guidance and best practice across the team.
• Troubleshoot, support, and resolve issues across mobile applications in live environments.
• Apply disciplined development practices, including version control, testing, and documentation.
• Break down business and product requirements into technical solutions and delivery estimates.

Collaboration & Delivery for the Mobile App Developer - React/iOS/Android position:

• Work closely with UX designers, product owners, and fellow engineers to deliver high-quality user experiences.
• Contribute to technical discussions, solution design, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support ad hoc development projects as required by the business.

Person Specification for the Mobile App Developer - React/iOS/Android position:

Experience & Skills:

• Proven experience in a mobile application development role, with delivery of apps into production environments.
• Hands-on experience with React Native, including building and maintaining applications for iOS and Android.
• Strong working knowledge of JavaScript, with exposure to modern frameworks and libraries.
• Experience using source control systems (eg Bitbucket).
• Understanding of mobile data storage, APIs, and integration with Back End services.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a structured approach to development.
• Estimation and planning experience.

Desirable:

• Experience with Objective-C (iOS) and/or Java (Android).
• Familiarity with TypeScript, RESTful services, TDD, and build automation tooling.
• General web development experience alongside mobile development.
