Payments Strategy Consultant (Sales) - 12 months contract - London/Hybrid - 2 days on site a week.
My client in the payments market place are putting together a new way of working/strategy with respect to payments merchant acceptance and how payments are accepted by their clients and promoted by their business development team/sales team.
This role will be supporting that team, by gathering data, help define and document strategy. Produce reports from data and be able to make presentation so have good Powerpoint experience. Help assist with go to market solutions, be able to define landscape, Must have a good high level understanding of strategy, sales and must have payments, ideally from card schemes.
Have good organisational and coordination skills. Must have a consulting mind set, good analytical skills and be able to present data to sales people.
Role summary
- Support the International Acceptance strategy by turning data into clear insights, improving KPI reporting, and helping operationalise our market playbooks. You will work closely with Strategy, Data, sales/partnerships to keep our acceptance programme moving with speed and discipline.
What you will do
- Build and maintain core dashboards (Spend Coverage, Location Coverage, Customer Journey lists, GTM lists).
- Clean, structure, and validate merchant, acquirer and BIN-level data to ensure accuracy and trust in reporting.
- Analyse market, merchant, and partner performance and surface clear insights for senior leadership.
- Support operational governance: status tracking, KPI baselines, templates, and monthly/quarterly reviews.
- Prepare presentations and one-pagers for internal stakeholders (VPs, President, Data, GTM).
- Help coordinate delivery across markets (UK, MX, FR, ES, IT, JP), acting as a connector across teams.
- Assist with ad-hoc analysis and Powerpoint draft development.
What you bring
- Strong analytical mindset; confident in Excel/Sheets and SQL and ideally snowflake. Though tech skills not essential
- Ability to clean and structure messy data with discipline.
- Clear, simple written communication; able to translate data into business implications.
- High ownership, reliable follow-through, and comfort working with ambiguity.
- Curiosity about (and ideally experience in) payments, merchants, PSPs, and the global acquiring and payment network ecosystem.
- A team-first attitude: organised, structured, proactive, and eager to learn.
