Our client is seeking an experienced Application Architect to define and lead the architecture of customer-facing digital products, including mobile and online banking platforms. You'll play a key role in shaping scalable, secure, and future-ready solutions aligned to Barclays' long-term technology strategy.

• Design and deliver end-to-end architecture for modern digital applications

• Define technology stacks, platforms, and integration patterns

• Contribute to and influence the technology roadmap within your domain

• Ensure adherence to architecture, security, and governance standards

• Produce architecture artefacts and participate in governance forums

• Partner with product and business teams to translate requirements into solutions

• Provide technical leadership, mentoring teams and promoting best practices

• Proven experience architecting distributed systems (microservices, REST APIs, cloud-native solutions)

• Strong hands-on expertise with AWS, Azure, or GCP, including migration strategies

• Solid software engineering background (eg Java, Python) with Agile delivery experience

• Financial services domain experience, ideally within payments, cards, or digital channels

• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills

• Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to balance business and technical trade-offs
