Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Senior Cabling/Smart Hands Engineer to join our growing technical services team. This role is ideal for a hand-on professional with strong structured cabling expertise, excellent data centre experience, and the ability to support complex on-site technical activities. You will work across corporate and data centre environments, supporting infrastructure builds, installations, and remote engineering teams. Location: Manchester Daily Rate: £14.90/hr PAYE, £19.34/hr - UMB Contract Length: 23rd March 2026 till 30th September 2026 Key Responsibilities Structured Cabling & Fibre Install, terminate, and test Fibre Optic and Copper cabling to industry standards. Perform Fluke testing, certification, and fault diagnosis. Install and maintain cable pathways including basket trays, trunking, and fibre runners. Interpret and follow patching schedules, cut sheets, and technical documentation. Data Centre & Smart Hands Support Perform rack and stack of network Switches, Routers, Servers, and other active hardware. Install power and data cables within server and network racks. Provide hands-on support to remote network and systems administrators. Apply basic IP Addressing under guidance. Assist with installation and configuration of UPS systems (desirable).
