Overview

We are seeking an experienced Platform Manager (M365) to take ownership of the strategic direction, governance, and continuous improvement of a global Microsoft 365 platform within a leading professional services environment.

This role sits within Technology Operations and is responsible for driving the technical roadmap, overseeing platform engineering and onboarding, managing vendors, and ensuring M365 remains secure, compliant, and optimised for business needs.

You will work closely with engineering teams, business stakeholders, application owners, and leadership to ensure the platform evolves in line with organisational goals, modern working practices, and data governance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and lead the overall strategy, roadmap, and technical direction for the Microsoft 365 platform.

• Oversee platform governance, security, compliance, and data stewardship.

• Manage application and data onboarding into M365, ensuring integration is secure, efficient, and scalable.

• Partner with engineering teams to plan, prioritise, and deliver enhancements, release cycles, and platform improvements.

• Represent the platform's capabilities, roadmap, and technical posture to senior stakeholders.

• Conduct product evaluations, market research, and vendor engagement to inform ongoing development.

• Collaborate with business units to understand requirements, identify improvements, and support platform adoption.

• Drive communication around platform changes, new features, and best practices.

Skills & Experience

• Strong experience with the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, its technical architecture, governance, and security model.

• Ability to plan and deliver enterprise-scale platforms across global teams.

• Proven experience working with cross-functional technical teams in complex, fast-paced environments.

• Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including working with business users, project teams, and engineering.

• Vendor management experience, including evaluating platforms and managing relationships.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and conceptual thinking abilities.

• Confident communicator able to translate technical topics into business-friendly language.
