The Role

We're looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to take ownership of key Back End services that power our AI-driven platform.

You'll work closely with product, Front End, and AI teams to design, build, and scale Back End systems that handle large-scale data, complex workflows, and Real Time interactions.

You'll join a small, high-calibre team where your ideas genuinely shape the direction of the product and the company.

What You'll Be Doing

• Architect, design, and build Back End applications using Node.js (TypeScript) and NestJS.
• Develop microservices and event-driven systems with asynchronous communication patterns.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code (unit + integration).
• Design and optimise RESTful APIs with a strong focus on performance, reliability, and security.
• Model and query data efficiently with MongoDB (or similar NoSQL databases).
• Deploy and manage services on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) using CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions).
• Troubleshoot and tune performance across distributed systems.
• Collaborate in an agile environment, contributing to design reviews, planning sessions, and team discussions.

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years of professional Back End development experience (preferably with Node.js + TypeScript).
• Strong grasp of asynchronous programming, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
• Solid understanding of testing, CI/CD, and cloud deployment workflows.
• Practical experience with MongoDB or similar NoSQL databases.
• Problem-solver with strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Bonus: experience with message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ), observability tooling, or DevOps-style environments.
