The HR Systems Manager role

Orbit are delighted to be recruiting for a People Insight and HR Systems Manager to join our People and Strategy team. In this new role, you will be responsible for overseeing the management and optimization of HR data and systems. This role ensures the efficient operation of HR technologies, supports data-driven decision-making, and enhances the overall functionality of HR processes through effective data management and system administration.

This role is part of People and Strategy where you'll help us to build a culture and brand that people want to be part of. This is an agile working role with roughly once per week working from our Coventry office, with additional travel to the office included as and when needed.

What you'll achieve as HR Systems Manager

• Oversee the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of HR information systems (HRIS), ensuring they are up-to-date and meet the needs of the organisation.
• Develop and generate detailed reports and dashboards to provide insights into HR metrics and KPIs. Utilise advanced reporting tools and techniques to create customised reports that cater to various stakeholders' needs. Present findings and recommendations to senior management to support strategic planning and decision-making.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of HR operations.
• Collaborate with HR leadership to develop and implement policies and procedures related to data and systems management.
• Lead and manage HR system implementation and upgrade projects.
• Work closely with IT and other departments to align HR systems with overall organisational strategy and goals.
• Provide informal coaching and support to junior colleagues, sharing expertise and encouraging their development through day-to-day collaboration.
• Work in close partnership with the HR Operations management team to align on priorities and contribute to the successful execution of systems-related initiatives.

Essential skills

• Expertise in HRIS systems, data analysis tools, and database management.
• Strong ability to analyse data, identify trends, to help make data-driven decisions.
• Proven track record of identifying issues and implementing effective solutions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
• Advanced skills in creating, interpreting, and presenting detailed reports. Proficiency in using reporting tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
• Strong project management skills, with experience in leading cross-functional projects.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail in managing data and systems.
