This company is a Workflow & AI Orchestration Specialist. They're on a mission to modernise how public sector organisations manage casework, derive insight from data and deliver citizen services. They're growing fast and looking for bright, dynamic people to help build their business.
Role
They're looking for an AI Practitioner to join their growing team, specialising in Agentic AI - autonomous systems capable of reasoning, planning, and collaborating with humans.
You'll bring deep technical expertise and a passion for applying advanced AI techniques to solve real-world public-sector challenges.
This role is ideal for someone with a MSc/PhD or equivalent research and implementation experience in AI, machine learning, or related disciplines, who enjoys working across the boundaries of research, engineering, and consulting.
You'll work with their consultants, engineers, and designers to prototype and deliver intelligent orchestration solutions that bring measurable impact.
The role involves visiting client sites; the company will cover travel expenses. Frequency is uncertain but candidates should be comfortable with that being 2-3 days per week. Client sites could be anywhere but will most likely be in & around London.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and deploy agentic AI systems that support autonomous reasoning and decision-making
Collaborate with service designers, engineers, and business analysts to identify and frame AI use cases
Prototype multi-agent systems, reasoning engines, and knowledge-graph integrations
Implement and fine-tune models for language understanding, decision automation, and data insight generation
Evaluate and integrate open-source and commercial AI frameworks into orchestration workflows
Ensure AI solutions are explainable, auditable, and compliant with public- sector governance standards
Advise on AI strategy, ethical use, and adoption roadmaps for clients
Contribute to internal R&D, thought leadership, and Casci's AI propositions
Support bids and client engagements where AI capability is a key differentiator
Essential
Deep understanding of AI and machine learning principles (preferably with a MSc or equivalent experience)
Hands-on experience building and deploying Agentic AI or multi-agent systems
Proficiency in Python and popular AI/ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, LangChain, Hugging Face)
Familiarity with LLM fine-tuning, reasoning, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) techniques
Experience integrating AI models into production systems or orchestration platforms
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate research into practical outcomes
Excellent written and verbal communication, able to explain complex AI concepts to non-technical audiences
Experience working in, or consulting for, UK public-sector organisations
Must be eligible and prepared to go through SC Security Clearance
Desirable
Knowledge of agent architectures (e.g., ReAct, AutoGen, CrewAI, BabyAGI, or similar frameworks)
Experience designing reasoning loops, memory systems, and tool-using AI agents
Understanding of ethical AI, governance frameworks, and public-sector AI standards
Familiarity with BPMN/DMN, process orchestration, or workflow automation platforms
Experience contributing to AI research, publications, or open-source projects
Holds UK security clearance (SC, DV, eDV)
