What will you be doing?
As a Project Engineer, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality IT infrastructure projects. You'll design, install, and configure server, storage, and network environments, provide technical pre-sales input, and act as an escalation point for complex technical issues. This is a hands-on role that combines technical consultancy, project delivery, and 3rd line support.
What will you need?
- Proven experience deploying and supporting servers, storage, and LAN/WLAN networks Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Hyper-V, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy Experience with backup and recovery systems in virtualised environments (e.g. Veeam) Skilled in firewall and web filter configuration and network authentication (e.g. Radius) Ability to produce detailed technical documentation and design proposals Excellent troubleshooting skills with a methodical, customer-focused approach Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel nationally
What would be desirable?
- Experience working within a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment Knowledge of HPE server/storage, Aruba networking, and Smoothwall appliances Understanding of SD-WAN technologies and cloud-integrated solutions Previous experience in technical pre-sales or consultancy
