We're seeking a Payments Solution Architect to design and deliver secure, scalable, and compliant Open Banking and payments solutions. This is a hands-on architecture role, ideal for someone passionate about shaping the future of digital payments, open APIs, and seamless customer journeys across cards, current accounts, and lending products. You'll be responsible for defining technical blueprints, integrating complex systems, and ensuring a smooth flow from customer onboarding to payment execution - all within a highly innovative financial services environment.

What You'll Do
  • Lead the design and integration of Open Banking and payments platforms, ensuring they're secure, compliant, and scalable.
  • Translate business needs into robust technical designs covering data models, APIs, and distributed systems.
  • Define customer journeys and onboarding flows that enhance user experience while meeting regulatory and security requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering and business teams to deliver end-to-end payment and servicing architectures.
  • Ensure alignment with PCI, ISO 20022, and Open Banking standards.
  • Stay ahead of emerging fintech trends to future-proof the payments architecture.

What You'll Bring

Proven experience in Open Banking and Payments architecture - covering authorization, tokenization, and transaction processing.
Strong integration background, working across systems, gateways, APIs, and third-party services.

Hands-on design skills in:

  • Customer journeys & onboarding experiences
  • Servicing flows across banking ecosystems
  • Logical & physical data modelling across cards, current accounts, and lending products
  • Deep technical understanding of Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and cloud (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Strong OOAD, UML, and modern architectural pattern experience.
  • Excellent communication skills - able to bridge the gap between business and technology.

If you're an architect who thrives in the fast-evolving world of Open Banking and digital payments - and you want to make an impact on the next generation of payment technology - we'd love to hear from you.
