Lorien Global is partnering with a fast-growing tech business in Manchester that's on a mission to modernise its infrastructure and scale its platform engineering capabilities. With a hybrid setup across AWS and on-prem VMware, they're laying the groundwork for high-performance microservices delivery-and you could be at the heart of it.

The Role:As a Senior Platform Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing and automating resilient infrastructure across cloud and on-prem environments. You'll work hands-on with technologies like .NET, RabbitMQ, WebAPI, WCF, MySQL, and MongoDB, while deploying infrastructure using IaC and Kubernetes.

This is a collaborative, high-impact role where you'll work closely with Engineering, Architecture, Security, and DevOps teams. You'll help shape reusable platform stacks, streamline deployment processes, and champion DevOps culture and cloud-native best practices.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Architect and deploy scalable infrastructure using Terraform/Ansible
• Build reusable platform stacks across Kubernetes, Docker, and VMs
• Integrate CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows for seamless delivery
• Drive automation and reduce complexity across internal tooling
• Support cloud governance, security hardening, and operational readiness
• Create and maintain SOPs for internal and external delivery teams
• Troubleshoot across cloud, infra, and application layers

What You'll Bring:

• Strong experience in platform/infrastructure engineering (Linux & Windows)
• Hands-on with IaC tools like Terraform or Ansible
• Proven experience with Kubernetes and Docker in production
• Solid AWS knowledge (EC2, S3, IAM, VPCs, networking)
• Bonus: Familiarity with VMware stack (vSphere, NSX, VCF)
• Excellent scripting and automation skills
• Strong understanding of cloud security and compliance
• Great communicator and team player in fast-paced environments
