IT Support Technician

Aldridge, Walsall

£30,000 - £35,000 (DOE) plus, annual bonus and excellent benefits

Our client is seeking an IT Support Technician (1st and 2nd Line) to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a technically skilled and customer-focused professional to work within a supportive environment, delivering IT support and managed services to a wide variety of organisations. The successful candidate will provide first and second-line support across a diverse range of technologies, both remotely and on-site.

IT Support Technician Key Responsibilities:

  • Acting as the first point of contact for customer IT issues.
  • Triaging and managing tickets within a helpdesk system, Zendesk.
  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining hardware and software across customer environments.
  • Using remote monitoring and management tools to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
  • Maintaining accurate technical documentation.
  • Supporting client devices (Windows, Mac, Android, iOS) and Windows Server environments.
  • Managing Microsoft 365 and cloud services (Azure, AWS).
  • Configuring and supporting network infrastructure including routers, firewalls, and switches.
  • Assisting with managed services such as connectivity, hosted telephony, backup, monitoring, and security solutions.

IT Support Technician Skills & Experience:

  • Strong experience with Windows 10/11 and Windows Server (2016+).
  • Knowledge of VMware, vCenter, and Hyper-V.
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking.
  • Experience with LAN support, structured cabling, and switches.
  • Familiarity with ITIL principles.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Strong general IT skills, including use of spreadsheets and databases.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to own transport. Use of company van on occassion
  • Experience with Mac OS.
  • Experience with Zendesk.
  • Knowledge of Draytek and WatchGuard firewalls.

Monday - Friday, 09:00 - 17:00 (occasional out-of-hours and potential future on-call work)
