3rd Line IT Support Engineer ? Central London Up to £55,000
We're looking for an experienced 3rd Line IT Support Engineer to take a leading role within a growing technical team. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in infrastructure management, 3rd-line support, and project delivery.
You'll be responsible for managing complex client environments, implementing robust IT solutions, and providing technical leadership to junior engineers. This is a hands-on, senior-level role where you'll combine troubleshooting expertise with project ownership and client engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Provide advanced 3rd-line support across servers, networks, cloud services, and security.
Design, deploy, and manage infrastructure projects including virtualisation, Azure, and server migrations.
Act as a technical lead for escalations and guide engineers through complex issues.
Collaborate directly with clients to deliver reliable and efficient IT solutions.
Lead on security initiatives, firewalls, endpoint protection, and data compliance.
Maintain detailed system documentation and performance reports.
Mentor and support junior engineers to promote best practice and technical growth.
Strong experience managing Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
Expertise in virtualisation technologies (Hyper-V / VMware).
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (Azure AD, VMs, Storage).
Skilled in backup and DR solutions (Veeam, Acronis, Cove).
Solid understanding of networking, VLANs, VPNs, and firewalls (Fortinet, Juniper, WatchGuard, Palo Alto).
Familiarity with storage platforms (Dell PowerVault, Synology) and endpoint protection (Microsoft Defender, Sophos).
Proven experience delivering infrastructure projects from design to completion.
