Location: London (5 days on-site required)

Contract Length: 6 months.

Rate: 226 per day inside umbrella

About the Role:

As a Data centre Technical Operations Engineer I, you will be the on-site maintenance technician and operator, responsible for the operation and upkeep of critical electrical and mechanical systems. Your expertise will ensure our data centres maintain an impressive uptime of 99.999%. If you thrive in a collaborative atmosphere and enjoy tackling challenging problems, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment, ensuring optimal performance.
• Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events, adhering to internal Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Conduct limited maintenance tasks, including philtre changes, HVAC preventative maintenance (PM), and rack power installations.
• Provide essential support to Data centre Operations technicians.
• Perform root cause analysis on equipment failures to drive continuous improvement.
• Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment through routine inspections.
• Manage building workflows and spare part inventory using our internal CMMS (computerised Maintenance Management System).
• Supervise contractors during servicing or preventive maintenance tasks.
• Respond to emergency calls during off-hours as part of an on-call rotation.
• Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and security policies.

What We're Looking For:

Basic Qualifications:

- City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.

- Knowledge of mechanical systems (HVAC, controls) or core electrical competencies and theory.

Preferred Qualifications:

- 2+ years of experience in data centre engineering operations.

- Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or equivalent engineering discipline.
