We're looking for a driven and dynamic Business Development Executive who's equal parts relationship-builder, sales strategist, and event mastermind. If you're passionate about creating unforgettable group experiences and love the thrill of turning enquiries into bookings - this role is made for you.
What You'll Be Doing
Sales & Business Development
- Unearth and secure exciting new opportunities across corporate, private, and public sectors - with a big focus on schools, companies, and groups.
- Be the first friendly voice or name clients encounter - respond quickly to all enquiries via phone, email or in person with tailored, persuasive proposals.
- Build strong, lasting relationships that bring clients back again and again (and have them telling their friends).
- Deliver knockout sales pitches that make choosing us a no-brainer.
- Smash sales targets and celebrate the wins!
Planning & Coordination
- Own the event journey from first contact to final feedback - no detail left behind.
- Work closely with clients to understand their goals, budgets, and vision.
- Coordinate internal teams and external suppliers to deliver flawless events - even when you're not physically on site.
- Stay on top of safety protocols, licences, and risk assessments.
Marketing & Promotion
- Team up with marketing to create buzz-worthy campaigns and materials that get events booked fast.
- Represent our brand at trade shows, exhibitions, and networking events - be the face of Activate.
Admin & Reporting
- Keep sales pipelines, leads, and event budgets organised and up to date.
- Produce clear, regular reports on your performance and event success.
- Keep an eye on market trends and what competitors are up to - always stay one step ahead.
What You'll Bring to the Table
- A proven knack for sales and group bookings - ideally from the leisure or hospitality world.
- Supercharged organisational skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects with a cool head.
- A natural communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and a strong command of English.
- Calm under pressure and confident against tight deadlines.
- CRM wizardry and a strong grip on event management tools and Microsoft Office.
The Details
- You'll typically work Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
- Travel to each venue at least once per quarter (ideally when the GM & ROM are on site).
- Be ready to roll up your sleeves for new openings when needed.
- Weekly reporting and regular video check-ins are part of the rhythm.
- Be a proactive member of the management team and a proud ambassador for the Activate brand.
