Role OverviewWe're recruiting on behalf of a leading infrastructure services provider operating across the UK and Ireland. They deliver essential services in water, energy, transport, and telecoms, and their Group IT function plays a key role in enabling strategic transformation.As a Solution Architect, you'll be responsible for designing and guiding IT solutions across major programmes and projects. You'll ensure that technology aligns with business goals and enterprise architecture standards, focusing on the next 0-24 months of strategic delivery.Responsibilities
- Define and communicate future-state architecture and domain roadmaps.
- Collaborate with enterprise architects, IT business partners, and programme teams to align technology with business strategy.
- Translate business needs into scalable, actionable IT solutions.
- Produce high-level and detailed solution designs, reference models, and reusable components.
- Ensure solutions meet compliance, security, and architectural standards.
- Support technology selection and ensure alignment with enterprise frameworks.
- Identify and address technical debt and architectural risks.
- Partner with project managers, business leaders, and technical teams to deliver change.
- Communicate architectural concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaborate across domains to resolve architectural challenges and ensure consistency.
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience in a Solution or Domain Architect role within a complex IT environment.
- Strong understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF).
- Hands-on experience with Oracle Fusion or ERP Cloud and Microsoft Azure.
- Utilities, Construction, Telecommunications or Transport industry experience from an architectural perspective
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.
What you'll get in return
- 6 Months contract
- £800 - 875 per day rate inside IR35 (via Umbrella Company)
- Hybrid working 2 days on-site at Stevenage
