Java Developer - move to DevOps SRE opportunity

Global, enterprise level SaaS product company (500+ staff), are seeking a DevOps Engineer to join a specialist team, with strong emphasis on SRE as an engineering function focused on architecture, design & automation in a Java coding environment.

You ll definitely be more on the Dev side of things & it s highly likely that you ll have come from or be a Java developer. In fact, this would be an excellent opportunity for a strong & experienced Java Developer, looking to move more toward Devops , with a platform engineering / SRE career path, utilising AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, etc.

Job title: Devops Engineer. Aka: SRE or Platform engineer.

Location: London office HQ, but this is largely a remote role. 1 day per month in the office for a team day, rest can be from home.

Salary: £70K - £80K + 10% Bonus + Excellent benefits package

What we d need to see in your skill set, to be considered:

- Hands on Java development & coding experience.

- Any experience of Kubernetes

- Commercial experience with Linux.

- Experience with git version control system

What would be an advantage & to give you an idea of what you d be working in:

- Experience with infrastructure as code approach to managing deployments.

- Familiarity with configuration and deployment management (Scripting, Virtualisation, AWS, Unix, Java, Databases, Kubernetes, Docker etc).

- Experience working in a compliant systems environment such as ISO 27001, SOC or PCI-DSS

- Incident, change & problem management experience.

- Knowledge of SQL relational databases
