Your colleagues will be from a wide variety of backgrounds – we encourage diversity, openness and gender equality.

Lead Developer - AWS Serverless, C# - London
We are looking for two lead developers to join our growing team!
You will be helping to build our platform using technologies including DynamoDB, Elastic Search, C#, Angular and Xamarin. You will have the opportunity to help us shape how we develop, fulfilling implementations for clients and enhancing our core platform.
Our solutions are addressing ‘retail simplification’, enabling organisation who are burdened with legacy solutions to adopt modern retail best practice.
To support our growth and accelerate our product development we are seeking candidates with strong development skills and a track record of delivering software projects. Any exposure to the retail sector would be an advantage, though not essential.
We understand candidates will not necessarily have experience of our whole technical stack. So we are looking for people with the potential to broaden their existing skill set.
If you want to help lead the development of our platforms, and if you have some of the following experience, please get in touch!
Relevant Skills
C#
Writing and consuming Web Services
Team leading
Angular / Web Front End development (We are currently using Angular 7)
NoSQL (ideally DynamoDB)
Serverless concepts – AWS Lambdas or Azure Functions
AWS
Location
Most of our developers work from home, however we do have the option of a London office, there is also the possibility of client site visits.

University of Oxford, Mathematical Institute
Oxford, UK
About the role
We are seeking to appoint to an exciting new Full-Stack Development Lead role on a permanent, full time basis. This is a pivotal post within our established and highly impactful IT Team, which has been designed to ensure that our IT and software development operations run smoothly.
As a senior member of the IT team, you will support service delivery by leading, driving and delivering longer-term technical projects to meet deadlines and by maintaining agreed service levels. This new role builds our IT team’s resilience at a senior technical level; you will report to the Head of IT who, amongst other management duties, acts as the overall IT architect and also leads, drives, and delivers various technical projects. As a senior leader, you will also act as a mentor to more junior team members to assist them in developing existing skills and gaining new ones.
This post presents a great opportunity to take ownership of various projects previously overseen by the Head of IT, which could include: maintenance and further development of the departmental website; redesigning and reimplementing the examinations database; and developing various helper and automation scripts for the maintenance and automation of our IT systems. You can find a full list of potential projects outlined in the job description document.
Although you will be primarily based in central Oxford, the department are open to a hybrid working arrangement at typically two days per week from home.
About you
We are looking for candidates who are able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the principles and technical processes of full-stack web application development, including substantial development experience with an expert level in at least one of Python, PHP or Ruby on Rails, and substantial frontend development experience (e.g. using JavaScript, CSS, HTML).
You will have an honours degree or equivalent experience, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, in particular the ability to work very closely with a variety of end users including senior academic and professional services staff, students, visitors and collaborators, and to communicate deeply technical concepts to non-technical audiences. You will be highly self-motivated and enjoy working both independently and as an effective member of a small team, with a light management touch.
We proudly hold a departmental Athena SWAN Silver Award and an institutional Race Equality Charter Bronze Award, which guide our progress towards advancing racial and gender equality. As part of our strategic aim to improve staff equality and diversity, we would particularly welcome applications from BAME candidates, who are currently under-represented in positions of this type within the department.
Application Process
If you wish to speak to someone informally about this post, please contact Dr Waldemar Schlackow (Head of IT) [ mailto:waldemar.schlackow@maths.ox.ac.uk ] or Dr Keith Gillow (Director of IT and Physical Resources) [ mailto:keith.gillow@maths.ox.ac.uk ]. Informal enquiries regarding the application process should be directed to the Recruitment Coordinator (email: vacancies@maths.ox.ac.uk ), quoting vacancy reference 161377.
Applicants should read the job description document before writing their application. You will be required to upload a supporting statement, setting out how you meet the selection criteria, a curriculum vitae and the names and contact details of two referees as part of your online application.
If no suitable applicants are identified at Grade 9, an appointment at Grade 8 (£43,414 - £51,805 per annum) with an appropriate adjustment to the duties may be considered.

A well-known energy provider in Glasgow is looking for a Lead Product Designer to join their team. The company are one of the leaders in the drive towards completely Green Energy and you'll have the opportunity to work in a team that has a pivotal role in that. Over the last couple years, they've re-structured their teams to give everyone a lot more autonomy and opportunity to progress and are now bulking out the squads as part of this. In terms of projects, the majority of the stuff you'll be working on is greenfield, which should be super appealing to most! The Product Design team in particular are one of the key drivers in the push to NetZero, so the role would very much suit someone that was passionate about this. All their Product Designers are Full Stack and they'd expect this Lead Product Designer to be the same. The Product Design team cover all of the design process including ideation, research, analysis, design and delivery - they are looking for someone that is comfortable with all of this. They're looking for this person to be a mix of hands-on and hands-off, so experience of working in a mixed role is essential. You don't have to have experience of being a "Lead" as such but certainly will need to at least have some experience of hands-off type work such as mentoring, delegating work, championing design thinking across a business, leading on design best practices, contributing to overall design strategy and much more. You will have 2-3 line reports, so having at least some management experience would be the minimum here. Due to the seniority of the role, they're ideally looking for someone that has experience across both web and mobile, as well as someone that has exposure to system/service design - someone with experience of working within FinTech or FinTech adjacent industries could stand out here. These things aren't absolutely essential but would be a massive bonus. The squads work cross-functionally, so you'll work closely with Developers, Product Owners, Testers, Engineering Managers and more. They are based in Glasgow City Centre and are looking for someone to be in the office 1-2 days per week. Salary on offer is up to 70,000 and have an amazing benefits package on top of this which includes a strong pension, 10% performance related bonus and much more. If you're an experienced Product Designer that is passionate about Green Energy, then please apply and/or get in touch with Jack Steven at Cathcart Technology.
