Database Administrator (DBA) SQL Server & Oracle

An exciting opportunity exists to join a dynamic IT organisation as a Database Administrator (DBA) SQL Server & Oracle.
We have a traditional technical landscape in our data centre in London and have initiated a plan to simplify our infrastructure platform on Amazon Web Services (AWS). This is a rare opportunity to be involved from the outset as we build our team and formulate new ways of working.
This role will involve working within a new team of SQL Server, Oracle Database, Oracle E Business Suite and Middleware (Oracle SoA) technical professionals. While this role is to act primarily as a SQL Server DBA, you will also be required to support Oracle databases, roughly a 60 / 40 split weighted toward SQL Server.
Your day-to-day role is to work closely with IT services teams to resolve support incidents , provision new services and manage suppliers . You will be expected to work on new projects and provide advice on database related matters to the rest of the IT teams.
As you will be part of 24x7 rota you will be expected to participate in on-call services for one week in every four. For this, the company awards on-call bonus payments and additional holiday.
You will ideally have in-depth knowledge of managing SQL Server and Oracle databases over a minimum of 5-7 years.
We are running mainly SQL 2005/2008 and Oracle 11/12 with upgrades planned.
