Responsibilities:
Platform Engineer works primarily within a project team with the following responsibilities:
⢠Managing, supporting, maintaining and improving the projectâs infrastructure, automation, continuous integration system and application release process.
⢠Acting as a bridge between operations and development teams.
⢠Supporting knowledge transfer by mentoring others.
⢠You will need to be seen as a leader within the field of âDev Opsâ and understand the effect of delivering leading edge technical solutions and the technical impact on the client.

Essential
⢠Strong commercial experience of managing complex multi-tier enterprise infrastructure environments.
⢠In-depth configuration management, automation and scripting skills including use of a scripting language such as Python or Ruby, proficiency with shell scripting (e.g. BASH)
⢠In-depth knowledge of platform and application automated deployment technologies (e.g. Ansible, Terraform, Cobbler, Puppet, Chef, Tivoli Provisioning Manager, Foreman)
⢠Exposure to iterative/agile development methodologies (SCRUM, XP, DSDM, RUP etc.)
⢠Exposure to continuous integration and build tools (e.g. Jenkins, TeamCity).

My client is currently recruiting for a IT Engineer based in West London to provide field support cumstomers. The ideal candidate will have good knowledge of Software and Hardware devices, Self-Motivated and good problem solving abilities.
Main duties:
* Provide Field Support to customers throughout the UK.
* Complete project work.
* Use company vehicle to provide logistical support as required.
* Adhere to customer SLA's and escalate incidents which may not meet SLA to the Operational Support Team.
* Update all incidents concisely in Remedy using the supplied iPad.
* Comply with Customer Health and Safety guidelines when working on client sites.
* Order parts and loans as deemed necessary to complete service incidents.
* Arrange shipment of faulty items and loan equipment to repair agents.
* Submit expenses on a monthly basis.
* Provide Engineers with a point of Technical Escalation
* If required attend Service Review Meetings with Account Managers at client sites.
* Record vehicle stock adjustments within Remedy.
* Maintain good relationship with suppliers and vendors.
* Follow Health and Safety Guidelines.
* Maintain company vehicle as necessary.
* Stay abreast of new technology.Resolution of all technical escalations and documentation of the event to ensure knowledge transfer throughout the department.Office, Data centre, Computer rooms, Warehouse environment or in accordance with customer requirements
Qualifications / education require:
* Full UK Drivers licence
* Minimum of 5 GCSE's grade C or above including Maths and English(or equivalent)
