WHAT TO EXPECT

As a part of the Motion System Integration team, you will be working within a multi-disciplinary team to contribute to the delivery of software and systems engineering for all vehicle programmes meeting all defined targets on cost, quality and time.

The main activity for this role is to be the first point of contact for the Motion Domain for SW integration activities on physical test properties (SLC, DLC, VB etc.) You will be responsible to ensure all Motion SW is flashed OK, and will need to support any issues that arise on these properties to understand route cause to pass to the relevant Motion Team. You will also be responsible to ensure that the correct calibration levels for the development vehicles for Motion, attribute demonstrators and FEU/ GLV's.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

1. Leading a cross-functional team to deliver the Chassis Packs in a timely and efficient way, as well as developing and maintaining tuning/ integration plans and schedules for Motion Pack Releases.

2. Supporting software integration tasks on physical properties for Motion, identifying route cause of any issues and ensuing engagement from the relevant Motion Team to support.

3. Support Integration leads with alignment of Motion SW freeze/ release dates with vehicle programmes to map programme and build specific requirements.

4. Work with stakeholders to lead Motion Software Integration compatibility reviews to understand dependency and test plans across the vehicle architecture.

5. Supporting Squads/ Chapters within both the internal team and externally to the wider organisation to deliver against build requirements.

6. Taking snapshots, evaluating data from the connected vehicle data lake, vehicle network and ECU logs, as well as the diagnosis and resolution of electrical system issues.

7. Lead preparation of vehicles (test and / or fleet) with correct software and calibrations (i.e., ADVs FEUs and GLVs)

8. Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested.

WHAT YOU NEED

  • Experience of Automotive Chassis Engineering and Vehicle Dynamics gained in an OEM or First Tier supplier environment.
  • Experience at fault finding with Automotive Software and Networks.
  • Excellent team-working, organisation and communication skills able to adapt into a multi -disciplinary environment.
  • Experience with software management on development vehicles, as well as software complexity and compatibility requirement.
  • Candidates must be committed, flexible and able to work under pressure and beyond normal working hours when required.
  • Experience in planning and delivery of complex multi-disciplinary projects in an automotive mechanical or electronics environment using a "Gateway" based process.

Desirable:

  • Prior or current JLR experience working in an Agile Structured Business
  • Experience with the Bosch MM6 data collection and analysis suite
  • Experience with use of CANape, CANalyzer,
  • Experience of managing data through Tableau/ JIRA/ RELM/ MARS
  • Master's degree in Engineering or Business or other Project Management Qualification e.g., PRINCE2, Scrum.org
