Tech Lead - £85k - Commodities - Remote First (London)

My client based in the commodities sector is looking for a Tech lead to join their team on an exciting project! They produce market-leading price assessments and analysis of international energy and other commodity markets.

This role is perfect for someone looking to get into the highly-prestigious commodities industry, or someone who is currently a senior developer and looking to tak the next step in their career.

This will be a predominantly hands-on role, but you will be helping to organise and technically lead multiple teams to success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Working as the leader of a Scrum team to produce production code in line with business requirements.
• Recruiting, training and developing the software engineers who report to you.
• Technical leadership, providing reference implementations and demonstrations of new technologies and frameworks, and ensuring a high standard of software development.
• Resolve technical debates/arguments to focus the team on working solutions.
• Contribute to the strategic technology direction of the company.

Essential Skills & Experience:

• C#/.NET Core
• Angular (versions 14 or 15)
• Leadership qualities
• A solid understanding of relevant software design patterns.
• Great communication skills
• A real interest in UX and user facing aspects of application design
• Curiosity and eagerness to both teach yourself, and learn from others

Desirable Skills & Experience:

• Belief in the importance of UX in all applications.
• Experience of time-series data, and/or prior experience of price and market-based applications.
• The AWS platform, including EC2, CloudFormation, RDS, Lambda, SQS, SNS
• Experience with Serverless computing such as AWS Lambda (Azure experience is also welcome)
• Containerisation with Docker

The role offers an £85k salary and offers a fantastic remote-first approach, with only 1 day in the London office required.
