Job Description

Unit 2 Games is an award-winning, Meta-owned games studio based in Leamington Spa, UK. We were formed in 2017 to build Crayta - our dream to make game creation accessible to anyone and everyone.We are looking for a UI Engineer to implement UI in Crayta and expand our UGC UI offering. You will be expected to take UIs from white box through to completed final implementation.As well as C++, we use JavaScript, HTML & CSS to build UIs. We are looking for candidates who either have existing experience in these tools, or have a proven track record and desire to learn new tools.

UI Engineer - Unit 2 Games Responsibilities:
  • Help to drive development of UI within the game using C++ and Coherent Gameface
  • Implement responsive and dynamic UI which supports different screen resolutions and input mechanisms in a multi platform environment
  • Build strong collaborative working relationships with all members of the UI team, studio, and wider organisation
  • Strive for a high level of quality in all aspects of UI presentation, including performance, reliability, maintainability
  • Support continued technical development and contribute to code reviews and best practices as part of the team.
  • Support feature development work that requires UI support.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Proven track record of debugging, performance analysis and optimisation in games development
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team of mixed disciplines, with good verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with version control, continuous integration, bug tracking and code review systems
  • Highly proficient with C++, with a proven track record of implementing and debugging UI


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience using Coherent Gameface
  • Experience with Unreal Engine 4
  • Experience with JS, CSS and HTML (and JS frameworks like React)
  • Experience working on games as a service titles
  • Experience working as a multi discipline team with designers and UI artists
