RSSB is seeking an experienced Azure DevOps Engineer, who will work across the IM&T Directorate to streamline the development lifecycle, improving productivity, delivery speed, and quality. The role will involve working closely with IT operations, development, and engineering teams to identify pain points and inefficiencies in delivery and operations.
Responsibilities:
Manage the implementation and operation of reliable, consistent, and responsive deployment processes across multiple products.
Ensure that the cost, security, and resilience of deployments are regularly reviewed and optimised. Provide guidance to architecture, development and engineering teams, enabling independent implementation, testing, and deployment of new features into production safely and quickly.
Ensure that engineering and development teams are adhering to agreed solution architectures, to maintain the performance and operability of the solutions they develop.
Develop automated application and infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment processes. Ensure that systems meet business and customer needs for reliability and availability.
Monitor and manage application performance and service quality, including initial troubleshooting, identification of root cases and issue resolution. Ensure that deployment architectures are well documented.
Promote DevOps principles and culture across the IM&T directorate.
Qualifications:
Essential
Effective collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to work well as part of a team.
Experience developing CI/CD workflows and tools, ideally using Azure Pipelines.
Automation scripting skills, including proficiency with Terraform and PowerShell.
Proficiency in one or more coding languages (eg .net, C#, Python).
Experience with Azure, Docker, and Azure Kubernetes Service.
Experience in configuration management, test-driven development, and release management.
Analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Experience with agile development and a strong understanding of DevOps principles.
Ability to investigate and analyse information, and to draw conclusions.
Flexibility, adaptability, and desire to learn new languages and technologies.
Effective communication skills.
Experience with incident management.
Highly Desirable
