Enterprise Systems Architect

Job Purpose

The Information Solutions (IS) Architect (also known as an Enterprise Systems Architect) works within NATS' business IT department in the IS Service Architecture team. They are instrumental in the delivery of architecturally aligned technology capabilities for NATS. They work closely with IS teams and other NATS' technology delivery departments and architects, to define and evangelise the IS Architecture. They work with many varied projects and business stakeholders, to guide, and ensure adherence to, IS Architecture.

You will have a broad set of technology and cross-architecture domain experience; be a strategic thinker with knowledge of trends and best practice; and able to collaboratively shape various projects and programmes of work.

Duties include:

• Leading the definition and modelling of the IS architecture vision for current and future capabilities to identify areas for improvement (reduce risk, increase value, etc)
• Leading the identification of innovative, strategic and emerging technology and engaging and exploring emerging ideas with external partners for innovative, improved or better fit opportunities for NATS
• Leading the identification, development and management of the IS architecture principles & policies to set clear boundaries for design, development, implementation and operation
• Directing, influencing and aligning solutions or services with the strategic architecture through architectural insight and consultation for Feasibility and Options
• Identifying and directing strategic and pragmatic approaches for the evolution of the IS architecture to match business needs and adhere to broader reference architectures
• Ensuring that all architecture-related knowledge is digitised and readily accessible for use by other teams to access

Essential skills and experience:

• Degree in a relevant Business or IT technical qualification or equivalent of knowledge acquired through experience, other qualifications and training/development
• Relevant architectural experience, including an understanding of SABSA, TOGAF, Zachman, DAMA or equivalent frameworks
• Demonstrable experience in either of: cloud & hybrid architectures, hosting and networking services; information and data management, analysis and governance; APIs; microservices; product delivery; and development lifecycles
• Expert understanding of the approaches required to identify, quantify and address domain related issues and opportunities in an organisation
• Ability to articulate complex issues and concepts to a wide range of recipients both written and verbally
