Backend Developer - Up to 60k - Manchester (Hybrid)

Lorien's Manchester based, leading client (offering hybrid working with maybe 2/3 visits per week into the office) are looking to recruit a Backend Developer on a permanent basis who fancies working with up-to-date technology. This will provide the chance to team up with some of the biggest brands in the UK while working for a company that prides themselves on innovation and operating in the digital transformation space.

This lucky candidate will be a proactive character able to deliver independently, and will work on new and existing features, functionality and technical solutions in order to ensure the continued growth and success of this already impressive organisation.

We are looking for an individual who has had proven experience of using programming techniques as well as exposure to common development tools such as Docker, Git etc. The individual must also have hands on experience of using at least one of the common languages PHP, C# or Python and exposure to using Databases is desirable.

Some of what you'll get up to:

• Using your skills to work on:
  • Server-side software
  • APIs (REST, API Integrations, etc.)
  • Microservices
  • Prototypes
  • POCs
• Interact with other teams and work closely to ensure best practice and processes
• Identify areas for improvement wherever possible
• Resolve issues through the analysis of legacy apps/processes

The skills we're looking for here:

• Solid background in the Software Development domain focusing on Backend
• Strong skills across PHP, C# and/or Python
• Working knowledge of Relational Databases (SQL, MySQL, etc.)
• If you have any skills on the Front End with tools such as TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS and so on, these can be put to good use!
