About the Opportunity
Studio Retail has embarked on a digital transformation journey, that has already reaped incredible commercial success. We are looking for an ambitious Lead Data Engineer to serve as the technical lead as part of the Data Platform team. This role reports to the Head of Data Platform and provides a lead role on a range of support, development and project tasks to transform the data and information landscape along with support and integrated technology to enable the business to fully exploit its data.

Leading the development and implementation of the new enterprise data warehouse, delivering on business requirements and ensuring successful delivery and access to an increasing number of datasets
Oversee and manage the ingestion process for an increasing number of data sources into the EDW, ensuring that they are accessible for BU Spokes and Data Science teams, and are able to be integrated into business-facing dashboards
Maintaining and improving the performance of the EDW and associated tools, ensuring they are safe and reliable for the business and identifying opportunities to optimise performance now and in the future
Line manage development resources, and oversee the spoke delivery, platform, and support squads
Adhere to Studio data governance, controls, methodologies and compliance standards and expectations
Providing coaching, support and guidance to engineers and analysts, building people capabilities to meet the requirements of the Enterprise Data Warehouse squads
Who are we looking for?
Experience leading data engineering teams
Strong understanding of relational database structures, principles and best practices
Knowledge of enterprise data warehousing, data integration and Business Intelligence (BI) reporting.
Significant experience working with Microsoft Azure (Data factory, Azure Functions, data lake storage)
Experience with Snowflake
Experience with DBT Labs
Experience with Stitch
Strong Experience with DevOps, including Bitbucket
Significant SQL experience
Experience with Python a plus
Experience with making data available for Microsoft PowerBI a plus
Significant Experience delivering as part of an Agile delivery team
Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
Self-motivated with keen attention to detail
Ability to deliver in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Experience in effectively managing a range of tasks and priorities, simultaneously
Proven track record communication and engagement at multiple levels
Ability to engage, challenge and influence others to achieve productive solutions
Appropriate professional qualification/experience
