Job Description

Spectrum IT's global retail client are seeking to expand their IT & Applications support teams and hire an experienced contractor to join them as a Contract IT Project & Application Support Engineer (2nd / 3rd Line) initially for 6 months.

This is a hybrid working role, requiring some onsite work in their offices (nr Portsmouth, Hampshire) and via Umbrella engagement only.

In this newly created team you will self-manage your projects, working and collaborating with renowned international brands (vendors) focusing on bespoke software applications and retail IT support initiatives. Candidates for this role will be experienced with applications support and ideally cloud based environments.

You will be proactive person who enjoys learning new applications and bespoke software products, to be able to deliver high levels of support, while working under your own initiative.

Lastly you will enjoy a varied and hands on senior support role where you can truly impact a business and vendors day to day.

Skills/Experience:

  • A personal love for technology, software applications and cloud based infrastructure
  • Previous Application Support and/or Software Support experience (Bespoke experience beneficial but not needed)
  • Cloud experience
  • Strong ability to manage/project coordinate work independently
  • Experience working with vendors and partnering on solutions
  • Experience liaising with business teams and units (security, infrastructure etc)
  • Highly self motivated and comfortable working independently to resolve issues
  • Highly organised
  • Experience working with bespoke (not off the shelf) systems and standardised IT product
  • Experience with database systems (beneficial)
