Manufactured Products Organisation (MPO) Component designers
Component design activities to support the MPO across the full lifecycle of design, from requirements, to stable volume manufacture
(1) Component Designer to lead volume Manufactured Product Designs
(2) Producibility designers to support continuous improvement activities / non-conformance reduction within volume manufacturing environments Knowledge and demonstrated application of Generic Design processes / NPI gated reviews
Requirements capture and interpretation
Conceptual and detail design experience leading to integrated design solutions
Interface Management and control
Working as an Integrated Product Team (IPT) member / leading an IPT
Geometric Tolerancing practitioner (GPS / BS8888)
Structured Problem Solving and Continuous improvement experience (8D, 7S, 3C etc.)
Non-conformance Root Cause analsyis (RCA) and resolution

Graduate (minimum BEng, preferred MEng) or equivalent in relevant discipline

DfX (Manufacture, assembly, Cost etc.), Lean and Zero Defects
CAD proficiency (Inventor / Creo preferred)
Robust Design techniques experience
Systems Engineering appreciation

PPAP / APQP awareness
Commercially savvy
Continuous improvement basics
V&V
Manufacturing Readiness / TRL maturity levels
Value analysis
Data analysis, SPC, Minitab
FE analysis awareness
Basic Stress and loads
