About the opportunity:

The fire engineer will be responsible for activities and deliverables related to life safety (evacuation of people in case of fire). This includes:
The issue of the fire strategy documents per building, as scheduled in the fire life safety sequence, listed below
The support to licensing - preparation and attendance to L4 meetings with the Regulator related to life safety
The support to the design of the HPC different buildings/equipment/systems with regards to UK fire regulation and standards, notably when passing the main milestones of the project (as D2 milestones of the buildings)
Collaborate with the engineers in charge of the firefighting systems and fire detection, and with civil and layout engineers
To support contract activities related to the supply of life safety equipment
To perform ALARP analyses
To support and to contribute to the resolution of open points. For that, bring some support to take decisions on committees (NIAM, DSCC, TDC, DCC)
To lead some modifications related to fire
To answer to NNB requests

Requirements:

UK practice, and specifically to identify and advise on the differences with UK engineering and contracting practices.
The health, safety, and environmental rules applicable in UK.
The UK Statutory Requirements to avoid any non-conformity with French Statutory Requirements.
The experience feedback of a UK project organisation.
The UK supply chain: its capability and capacity to support the UK EPR programme.
The knowledge of the UK fire rules as per:

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
BS9999 - Code of Practice for fire safety in the design, management and use of buildings. British Standards Institute. 2008.

GRADE: Engineer Level 3 - Engineer Level 5

Level 3:
Engineering graduate or Master 2 technical manager having expert knowledge of his field, independent in his activity and able to co- ordinate the work of technicians or junior managers.
Providing medium-sized work assemblies in a single discipline, while complying with deadlines and quality.
Drafting competent technical reports. Providing technical support with a minimum of supervision.
University degree or engineering diploma with more than 6 years' experience

Level 4:
Engineering graduate or Master 2 technical manager. Has recognised technical expertise in his field and is capable of making proposals in his field of activity.
Carrying out small multi- disciplinary projects or medium- sized sets of single disciplinary works while complying with deadlines and quality.
Takes full responsibility for drafting competent technical reports with a minimum of supervision and provides full technical support for work lots.
Developing skills in management and briefing.
University degree or engineering diploma with more than 10 years' experience

Level 5

Engineering graduate or Master 2 technical manager. Highly qualified and with great experience, having indisputable recognition as regards their professional activity.
Carrying out medium-sized multi- disciplinary projects or major assemblies of work in a single discipline while complying with deadlines and quality.
Drafting competent technical reports.
Managing and informing a team about working procedures.
Resolving engineering and factory problems in a wide range of engineering disciplines.
University degree or engineering diploma with at least 15 years' experience
