Indirect Senior Transformation (Open to Flexible Working)

Our high-profile Indirect Tax Transformation team, based primarily within our London office in the UK, focus on assisting clients with transformation programmes and the operational management of Indirect Taxes. This includes helping clients adapt to the global trend towards tax authority digitisation. They advise clients on a wide range of operational, data and technology projects, such as ERP system Indirect Tax optimisation, process & controls improvements, data analytics and also working with innovative technologies including machine learning and robotics.

The indirect tax transformation team works with a variety of organisations across all sectors and geographies. The business has been growing year on year and in order to seize the opportunities available in the market, the team requires new talent.

The opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and ambitious individual to join EY's specialist indirect tax transformation team, with a broad focus across all transformation areas. This role will provide the opportunity to work with our clients on all aspects of transformation, such as defining client's Indirect Tax function operating models, conducting process risk & controls reviews, reviewing effectiveness of ERP systems and technology, to implementing data analytics, process automation and VAT reporting solutions. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to work with significant multinational clients and to engage with our global EY network, providing a great opportunity to build your transformation skills and expand your corporate network.

Your key responsibilities

• Successful delivery of client projects across the transformation areas (process, data and/or technology)
• Proactively manage multiple client and internal projects and stakeholders
• Proactively use and build EY expertise to deliver exceptional client service
• Build and maintain relationships both within the firm and externally with clients, identifying opportunities and growing your network
• Assist in identifying, pursuing and converting opportunities to win new work by supporting the business development and sales process, working with VAT client relationship owners
• Support the development of new propositions to meet client and market needs. This includes liaising with our IT resources on the creation of new technology solutions

Skills and attributes for success:

• Experience in Indirect Tax and general transformation (process, data and/or technology improvement)
• Excellent communication and client management experience
• Ability to work in teams to deliver projects - spanning jurisdictions, functional areas etc
• Self-starter and good time manager with ability to successfully deal with competing priorities
• Experience in delivering work in relation to data challenges using technology (e.g. Alteryx, MFST)
• Ideally some experience regarding ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, or other ERP systems) but not essential

To qualify for the role, you must have:

• Indirect Tax experience or exposure
• Transformation project delivery experience (e.g. process, data and/or technology improvements)
• Preferable, experience working for a consultancy business (Big 4 or other)
• Preferable, transformation process and technology skills (e.g. LEAN, Agile, Microsoft, Alteryx etc)
