Increased fuel costs, reduction in operating costs and numerous employment laws such as Duty of Care are all driving increased interest in our products and services. As such we now have an opening for an experienced Software Development Engineer to join our Established Engineering and Manufacturing teams here at the Head office in Coleshill.

Main Responsibilities of the role:

• Analyse, design, implement and test new features for the company's manufacturing systems applications.
• Propose and implement fixes for issues (bugs) within the manufacturing system applications.
• Perform unit, system and integration tests for the manufacturing systems applications.
• Providing support to the manufacturing and QA teams during testing phases and new product introductions.
• Providing support to hardware design teams regarding design, manufacture and testing of new production test equipment.
• Input to project management process regarding estimates to complete; potential risks and opportunities; project issues; and reporting of progress / completion
• Providing support to manufacturing and QA teams as necessary to resolve production issues.

Requirements:

• Portfolio of previous projects; either university based or home projects.
• Understanding of the full software development lifecycle
• Knowledge and experience in C#
• Knowledge and experience of mySQL
• Experience of JavaScript, AngularJS, JSON, Python & PHP or similar
• Interest in C/C++
• Competent with Microsoft suite of office tools
• Formal qualifications in a computer science subject, or equivalent relevant work experience Excellent technical skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Enthusiastic self-starter and strong team player with the ability to work alone or within a team environment
