Overview
Brio Digital recruitment is working in partnership with a leading health-tech consulting delivering critical government infrastructure.
This project launched across England earlier this year; the service helps identify, contain, and control coronavirus, reduces the spread of the virus, and saves lives.
This company has been instrumental in delivering the digital solution supporting the coronavirus virus and antibody testing and is currently preparing for mass scaling of the testing operation and optimizing system interactions and the user journey for dependent systems such as Tracing.
Key outputs and deliverables associated with this role are:
Formulate the technical requirements for a re-procurement of the COVID-19 testing platform.
Oversee the technical implementation of service disaggregation, AWS migration, tech debt implementation and scaling actvities for the COVID-19 testing programme.
Provide technical guidance on interface design
Resolve any technical issues resulting from the migration of a complex set of services from one AWS platform to another.
Provide guidance on how tech debt should be addressed.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities include ownership of the following key areas:
Ownership: Technical Architecture design for one or more specific "Missions" supporting the covid-19 virus and antibody testing. Identifying opportunities for system improvement, resolving technical debt, providing a roadmap for improvements, and working with product management team to schedule and deliver to the roadmap.
Contributing to: Development Architecture and CI/CD pipeline designs and improvements roadmap to align with Technical Architecture roadmap.
Contributing to: managing architecture design and change in dependent systems, paying particular attention to the non-functional requirements such as security, performance, scalability, availability, cost and operations, as well as ensuring that architecture documentation is accurate and up to date.
The role requires significant engagement with multiple stakeholder groups such as the executive team, the business team, the development partners, external suppliers, as well as a multitude of internal NHS Digital teams such as Technical Architecture, Solution Assurance, Service Management, and Platforms & Infrastructure.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential
Retail Oracle Supply Chain expertise or similar - Essential
Applications & Infrastructure-focussed technical architect with demonstrable experience of working successfully with varied development teams in a fast-paced cloud-based environment.
Proven track record of cloud-based solution architectures, particularly using AWS
Knowledge of development techniques and development platforms/environments/languages including JavaScript, Java & Python
Integration and Interoperability (patterns of interoperability event based, batch, synchronous/asynchronous) and associated standards
Data ingestion/processing techniques and technologies
RESTful API design, assurance and management
Excellent written and communication skills
Management of suppliers and assurance of their solutions
Assignment management of other technical architects
Evidence of identifying and documenting functional and non-functional requirements for a particular project
Advantageous
AWS Solution Architect (Associate or Professional) certification
OpenID Connect, OAuth2, FIDO2
Security clearance via the national vetting service
Knowledge of core NHS and healthcare technologies
Knowledge of interoperability within Healthcare systems
