Job Description

QA Engineer - Automation / Manual (60/40)
Haywards Heath or London with WFH / Remote working options

QA Engineer required by a fast growing and multi-award winning Financial Services company based in Haywards Heath, West Sussex or London with remote working / work from home options. The QA Engineer will help to bridge the gap between manual and automated testing, working closely with .NET development teams and SDETs.

A few details about the role
The QA Engineer will be in a role that offers exciting projects and challenges. Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Work in an agile environment, being involved in stand-ups, planning, refinement, retros etc.
  • Work with cross-functional team to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners and Business Analysts to help define business requirements.
  • Define test plans, carrying out testing of user stories, and reporting any bugs discovered.
  • Ensure all artefacts created during testing (test plans, scenarios, bug reports etc) are properly documented and kept up to date.
  • Create API tests using Postman
  • Help develop end-to-end automation scripts using Cypress and Cucumber.
  • Work closely with Developers and SDETs to ensure test coverage is met.
  • Continuously look for ways to improve and evolve QA processes

What you will need
Unfortunately desire alone is not enough (though it definitely helps). You will also need:

  • Experience as a QA Analyst, QA Engineer, or similar role encompassing automated testing
  • Solid Cypress and hands-on JavaScript experience
  • Keen attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Confident collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Good understanding of various testing types, including exploratory testing, regression testing, accessibility testing, performance testing etc.
  • Comfortable testing APIs using Postman or similar tools.
  • Experience in using a variety of tools to aid testing and knowing when to apply them.
  • Understand the benefit of automation and when to apply it.
  • Experience testing a serverless event-driven application would be beneficial.
  • Are passionate about testing, continuously looking to improve your own knowledge and skills
