At Evergreen Energy we help our customers significantly cut their carbon emissions and reduce their energy bills. We believe that making our homes more energy efficient and using smart, renewable technology to heat and power them will play a big part in creating a sustainable future.
Our energy system is changing: we are decarbonising power generation by growing renewable capacity while at the same time increasing demand by electrifying our transport and heating. In response energy suppliers have started to offer innovative energy tariffs, where prices change during the day to reflect the availability of renewable energy and demand on the energy system.
Our products and services allow customers to make greener choices while also optimising their home energy use. For example, our Homely smart thermostat is specifically designed for heat pumps and innovative energy tariffs. We can optimise any heat pump to make sure we use the cheap, low carbon energy when it is available - giving our customers a cosy home for less.
We are rapidly growing our team and want to make sure we are delivering a joined up customer experience across our products and services for both domestic customers and installers.

What you'll be doing
You will be our first in-house User Experience and Design role in the business, taking the lead on creating and implementing a UX and design strategy across our products and services.

We want you to:

• Develop an in depth understanding of our customers and their needs
• Provide UX and design direction across the business, including making key recommendations and decisions
• Work with our Head of Engineering to help make sure design process is Embedded into the engineering and delivery processes
• Use design principles to bring all parts of the business together to create a joined up customer experience
• Create user centric solutions across our products and services
• Work across several cross functional teams including product management, engineering, product marketing and customer support
• Help us build an environment that uses data and feedback to inform and nurture creativity

We are looking for someone who:

• Has proven B2C and B2B2C UX and design experience (preferably across both physical products and mobile apps)
• Wants to take on a key role in a growing business
• Is used to taking the lead on defining customer journeys, service design, wireframes and prototypes
• Has experience managing outsourced resource
• Is able to ask the right questions to gain the full picture
• Is outcome focused and takes a hands on approach
• Can communicate equally well with technical and non-technical colleagues
• Wants to be part of the once in a lifetime energy transition

Experience of working in a high growth scale up, would also be a benefit.
