RPG Analyst Programmer - opportunity to cross train into .NET - based remotely with occasional visits to Chorley (Lancashire).
RPG Analyst Programmer is required by fast growing, industry leading and international organisation. You will need skills in AS400/i-Series, RPG400, RPG ILE, Free Format RPG, ERP and SQL.
This organisation has exciting and long term growth plans and you can expect to be cross trained into .NET.
The development team is made up of talented RPG industry experienced Developers and .NET Developers, who thrive on taking the company's systems and development to the next level.
You will a minimum of 3 years full life cycle development experience under their belt, who wants to join an established, stable and RPG-committed work environment.
Essential skills
You will need to have a minimum of 3 years solid full life cycle skills in RPG400/ILE/Free Format RPG, preferably gained from within an end-user environment ideally covering:
Full development life cycle expertise
Able to communicate at all levels
Work unsupervised, prioritising work based on business impact
Software troubleshooting experience
Experience in ERP development and software integration
Full development life cycle:
RPG from System36 to LE
ERP development and integration
Interfacing to existing processes
CL Scripting, screen design and reports
SQL and DB2/400 data manipulation techniques
IP, sockets and other communication protocols
Creation of software specification
Data, program and process testing
Able to adapt and use new technologies
