Our prestigious Higher Educational client based in London is seeking a dynamic, hands-on and technically astute Application Architect/Integration Architect with 5+ years' experience in solution development disciplines, including technical architecture, network management, application development, Middleware, database management and operations.

As Application Architect/Integration Architect, you will be providing the necessary leadership, analysis and design tasks related to the development of a solutions architecture. You will create deliverables that help develop a direction for managing the organization's portfolio of "to be" and "as is" solutions - including systems (meaning not just applications, but also processes and information), shared infrastructure services, and shared application services to better match targeted business outcome objectives.

You must have a proven track record of working as an Application Architect/Integration Architect with good knowledge of design technical architecture, network management, application development, Middleware, database management and operations.

Other duties and responsibilities will include

• Design and lead the implementation of a solution architecture across a group of specific business applications or technologies based on enterprise business strategy, business capabilities and business requirements.
• Maintain the current-state solution portfolio to identify deficiencies through aging of the technologies used by the application, or misalignment with business requirements.
• Analyse the business-IT environment (run, grow and transform the business) to detect critical deficiencies, and recommend solutions for improvement (systems of record, differentiation and innovation).
• Develop a roadmap for the evolution of the solution from current to future state (as defined by the solution architecture).
• Document all solution architecture design and analysis work.
• Understand technology trends and the practical application of existing, new, and emerging technologies to enable new and evolving business and operating models.
• Provide consulting support to design group members within domains and products to ensure the work is aligned with the overall enterprise architecture.

Awareness of the objectives and functions of the Higher Education sector including governance and funding issues is desirable.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are a must as you will be liaising with internal and external stakeholders.

This is an initial 3 month contract based in London (2 days per week) and remote 3 days per week.
