Job Description

Role - Snr Data Scientist

Location -- Remote

Salary - Up to £62,000

Skills - Python / Machine Learning Libraries

Work Pattern - Remote but ideally some office in one of their offices (London, Scotland, North West England and Oxfordshire) but that isn't essential.

We have a brand-new role for a Snr Data Scientist to work within Sustainability, Climate Protection and Renewable Energy. You will be joining a Data Science team of 10 which has been established for 3 years now and is steadily growing as the volume of work increases.

This team is at the forefront when it comes to finding solutions to large problems that affect us all. The world you do feeds into large organisations, government bodies and even as high as the EU and worldwide policies.

The role can be completely remote or with some office time in one of their 4 UK offices. Entirely flexible and your choice.

The Role

You will work across the business in order to implement innovative solutions and provide leadership on best practices in statistical modelling and machine learning approaches.

You will get to work on a variety of projects within climate change and sustainability, some examples:

Forecasting Air Quality
Predicting Algae Blooms
Renewable Power Uptake
Waste Management
Water Quality

These projects can change all the time and as a result you will a wide variety of problems challenges, data types and need to be able to come up with innovative solutions some of the planet biggest problems.

Requirements

Python

We are looking for excellent Python skills (with libraries and frameworks) and someone who is happy to do a little bit of mentoring / training with Junior Data Scientists. We are also looking for experience with relational and ideally non relational databases but the Python programming is the key required skill here.
