Permanent

£40,000 to £42,000 per annum plus benefits

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an IT Senior Network engineer. The main purpose of the role is to be responsible for all networking kit across multiple Emovis projects in the UK.

Responsibilities within this role will include:

  • Takes the lead supporting all CISCO, Dell and any other networking hardware
  • Manages and maintains all network switches and configurations
  • Aligns, defines and enforces standards for all IT related support activities such as:
    • Setup, install, configure and monitor networks (LAN and WAN)
  • Maintains all firewall configurations including a bi-annual review with supporting documentation
  • Carry out firmware upgrades and security patches to networking devices as and when needed
  • Ensures changes process is followed and any changes have the required audit trail
  • Maintain complete technical documentation
  • Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity and scalability
  • Resolving issues escalated from Level 1 support engineers
  • Mentoring team members and addressing their technical needs
  • Recommends software and hardware upgrades, patches and/or replacement for Network equipment
  • Provides technical support and investigations of IT related problems and coordinate the implementation of the appropriate solution with the central support team

To be successful within this role you will have the following;

  • Familiarity with Cisco firewalls and switches
  • Familiarity with Dell Sonicwall devices and Dell switches
  • Knowledge of Barracuda and F5 load balancers
  • Must have exceptional networking skills, along with high level routing knowledge
  • Must have experience with site-to-site VPN's and WAN's
  • Ability to document networks and update relevant documentation where necessary
  • Proven ability to setup, configure and rack new networking devices without assistance
  • Is aware of escalation processes to networking 3rd parties such as Cisco TAC
  • Experience required in setting up and troubleshooting network equipment such as storage devices, switches, firewalls, routers and VPNs
  • Experience with performing network analysis and contribution to design of network architecture, integration, and installation.
  • Experience with planning and implementing network security, including setting up firewalls, managing host security, applying cryptography to network applications, and regulating file permissions
  • Strong expertise and experience with Cisco hardware required
  • Experience with SonicWall firewalls and Dell N series switches.
  • Ability to analyse connectivity issues with custom applications within the network
  • Highly analytical thinking with demonstrated talent for identifying scrutinising, improving and streamlining process
  • Flexible team player who thrives in environments requiring ability to effectively prioritise

  • Must have the ability to participate within a technical team
