Job description:

Our client in Glasgow is looking for an IT Network Engineer to join their IT Network Team, helping them to redefine the IT support underpinning the delivery of multiple services for more than 200,000 people in communities across Scotland.

Working closely with colleagues in IT you'll be responsible for:

  • Providing 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support to staff across a range of applications and services throughout Scotland;
  • Ensuring incidents are managed and escalated within agreed SLA timescales;
  • Network patching and security in complex networks;
  • Supporting changes to our clients service delivery models and project delivery;
  • Producing support and knowledge base documentation;
  • Developing customer knowledge and information to encourage self-service support;
  • Compliance with the companies policies and procedures;
  • Work on call to provide OOH support to the organisation;
  • Capturing requirements of requests by attending meetings and producing solutions;

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Experience in routing protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP and BGP;
  • Experience with switching (Nexus, Catalyst and Meraki);
  • Experience in Meraki wireless;
  • Configuring network security appliances such as Cisco ASA's, Cisco Firepower, Cisco ISE and F5 load balancers;
  • Experience in implementing complex & troubleshooting IPSec site to site tunnels;
  • Creating and maintaining documentation using Visio;
  • Racking and stacking network devices either to new sites or upgrading existing;
  • Basic knowledge of virtual machines;
  • Basic knowledge of Unified Communications.
  • Excellent customer service skills;
  • The need to understand and translate customer requirements into supportable solutions;

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Cisco CCNA/CCNP accredited;
  • ITIL v3 Foundation accredited or working knowledge;
  • Experience working in the capacity of a network engineer.
