Network Engineer; Cisco Router, Check Point Firewall, Cisco Switches, VPN

Rate £175 p/d Inside IR35, Birmingham, Office based, 3 months contract.

1. We are looking for a Network Engineer to implement and support our growing network infrastructure.
2. Candidate must have hands-on experience on network devices (Cisco Router, Check Point Firewall, Cisco Switches and Meraki Wireless)

Responsibilities

• Configure and install various network devices and services (eg, Cisco Routers, Cisco Switches, Checkpoint Firewalls, and VPN)
• Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations
• Will be able to dismantle and install network devices in Rack.
• Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues
• Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
• Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company's security team
• Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution Requirements
• Proven hands-on network engineering experience
• Understanding of networking protocols (eg, IPSEC, HSRP, QoS)
• Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model
• Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools
