This is an exciting time to join NHS Digital as one of our Senior Enterprise Architects and we have several roles available. The Architecture Profession provides a range of services to our internal and external stakeholders. The work we do makes a difference to patients and NHS staff at a national level.

We ensure that architecture underpins NHS Digital’s strategy and missions which includes aligning our business goals and architectural approach. We have specific responsibility for the architecture response to the COVID initiatives and for our internal corporate services. The team is also responsible for ensuring we have accurate architecture documentation in Aalto (the architecture tool) and published best practice guidance. We work closely with NHS Digital’s Strategy function.

Please note that the this role attracts a Recruitment and Retention Premium which is based on your level of experience.

About you

Some of the skills and experience we're looking for: 

  • advanced knowledge of specific enterprise specialisms and experience providing advice regarding their application (this can be any relevant area of information technology, technique, method, product or application area)
  • experience of running or promoting the various governance forums that fall under the remit of Enterprise Architecture, working to ensure that architecture governance is embedded and adhered to throughout the organisation
  • experience of maintaining an awareness of an organisation's needs aligned to the wider system, and actively promoting the benefits that a common approach to ICT deployment can bring
  • skilled in working with different stakeholder groups to understand what's required to support and influence decision making in an organisation. This will include experience of communicating information using textual, numeric, graphical and other methods appropriate to the target audience to provide assurance that user needs will be met
  • significant proven experience in Enterprise Architecture, with specialist knowledge gained through professional development activities
  • TOGAF 9 Certified, or working towards it
