The Role

Working closely with the IT Director, the Engineering Manager / Software Development Manager will take responsibility of the day-to-day management of the software development and will oversee the frontend (JavaScript, React, Node.js) backend (Python) and the client-support teams. Working to develop data visualisation software using real-time data, used by clients in a variety of industries to make business critical decisions, as well as overseeing the running of the 24-7 Support Team, you will ensure the team meet key performance targets.

Managing the two development teams through two experienced Team Leads, the Engineering Manager / Software Development Manager will take a hands-on approach, conducting code reviews and assisting with coding whenever required.

What's Required?

For the Engineering Manager / Software Development Manager, we are ideally looking for:

• Experience leading a Software Development or Engineering team
• Solid understanding of Python and/or JavaScript code, but ideally both
• Expert at understanding and directing code development
• Excellent database design skills - MySQL, NoSQL, PostgreSQL
• Prior experience in data environment would be beneficial, with data visualisation being advantageous
